Corby Urgent Care Centre
If you have a major emergency call 999 or attend your nearest hospital’s A&E Department. For a less series accident or medical issue it is best to attend Corby Urgent Care Centre. You can also call 111 for advice (this service has replaced NHS Direct).
The Corby Urgent Care Centre is open 8.00am to 8.00pm every day (until the 31 March 2014 they are open until 12.00 midnight). Visit their website at www.lakesideplus.nhs.uk for further information.
No appointment is necessary, but patients will be seen in order of clinical priority, so they may have to wait if their condition is not as serious as others. You will be seen by a doctor or senior clinical Nurse Practitioner after being initially assessed by a nurse to establish how urgent your complaint is.
Some people will be monitored in the observation bays before deciding on an appropriate care plan. This may, for example, involve treatment with intravenous (through a vein) medication and further tests whilst in the unit.
Who can access the service? Anyone can use this service.
What for? Any illness that needs urgent attention, injury or fractures.
