The Basics of Poker

Poker is a card game that involves chance and skill. A hand consists of two distinct pairs of cards, plus a fifth card. The highest pair wins. If two players tie, the highest card will break the tie. If both players have high hands of the same kind, the second highest card wins. However, a hand can also have a single pair.
